Kansas City Monday Weather: Sunny Skies Return After Dense Morning Fog

Kansas City, MO – Dense fog early Sunday morning in parts of northern Missouri, including Kansas City, could impact visibility for drivers. Following this foggy start, calm and sunny conditions are expected to dominate much of the upcoming week, giving residents a break from extreme weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill, dense fog is possible Sunday morning across portions of northern Missouri and extreme eastern Kansas. Drivers traveling in and around Kansas City are urged to use caution, particularly on interstates and major roadways. Visibility could drop below a quarter of a mile in some areas.

After the fog lifts, Sunday’s forecast calls for clearing skies with temperatures climbing to a high of 55°F. Winds will remain light throughout the day, gradually shifting to the south at 5 to 10 mph.

• Monday: Sunny skies are expected, with a high near 52°F. Winds will increase slightly, gusting to 20 mph by afternoon.

• Tuesday: A warmer day with increasing clouds and a high of 52°F. Winds from the southeast could reach up to 20 mph.

• Wednesday: Cooler conditions return, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 38°F. Overnight lows will dip into the low 20s.

• Thursday: Mostly sunny with a slight warming trend, reaching a high of 43°F. Nights remain cold, with temperatures around 28°F.

Kansas City residents should prepare for chilly overnight lows throughout the week, with clear and calm conditions during the day. Morning commutes, particularly on Monday, could see light fog before the sun breaks through.
