Kansas City, MO – Travelers across Missouri face patchy fog and drizzle this Christmas Eve, potentially impacting road conditions along major highways like I-70. Reduced visibility of less than a mile is expected in northern Missouri, especially during morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog will linger through the afternoon in southwestern and central parts of the state. Daytime highs will reach the mid-40s, offering mild temperatures but with overcast skies. Tonight, patchy fog will redevelop, and lows will dip to 33 degrees, creating potential for slick spots in some areas.

Christmas Day will bring areas of fog and slight chances of drizzle in the morning. Conditions will remain mostly dry but cloudy, with temperatures peaking at 46 degrees. Drivers should remain cautious, especially during early hours when visibility may be limited.

Looking ahead, the extended forecast shows a slight chance of rain on Thursday, with highs climbing into the low 50s. By Friday, temperatures could reach 55 degrees, though rain becomes more likely into the evening hours. Saturday offers relief with partly sunny skies and a high near 56.
