Kansas City, KS — Severe storms are expected to hit Kansas City into Monday morning and by Thursday, as temperatures in the region begin to rise following a period of cooler weather. The National Weather Service in Topeka, KS, has forecast an active weather pattern throughout the week, with the best chances for showers and storms occurring from Sunday night into Monday, and again on Thursday as the heat intensifies.

According to the National Weather Service, the Kansas City area will experience daily chances of showers and thunderstorms leading up to Thursday. Highs on Sunday will range from 74 to 79 degrees, with temperatures rising to between 80 and 88 degrees by Monday. By midweek, temperatures are expected to peak in the mid-90s, creating conditions ripe for severe weather.
