Kansas City, MO – Strong northwest winds and colder temperatures are creating a breezy day for Kansas City residents. Winds are expected to reach 30 to 35 mph during morning and afternoon hours. The National Weather Service warns residents to secure outdoor decorations as gusts may shift unsecured items.

According to the US National Weather Service, temperatures will stay in the 40s today before dropping into the 20s overnight. The colder air mass moving through the area will moderate slightly by Friday, with highs nearing 50 degrees. Northwest winds will weaken to 10-15 mph on Friday.

A warming trend is forecast for the weekend, with highs reaching the 60s by Sunday. However, forecasters caution that a cold front arriving Monday will send temperatures back into the 40s.

Residents planning outdoor activities should monitor changing conditions and dress for cooler temperatures. The National Weather Service recommends keeping up with updates, particularly for next week when additional weather changes are expected.
