KANKAKEE – Over 2,000 COVID-19 cases have now been reported since the start of the pandemic earlier this year in Kankakee County.
The Kankakee County Health Department (KCHD) made the announcement this afternoon, with the addition of 22 cases Tuesday, making for a total of 2,001 cases to date.
Over a quarter of all cases to date remain active in Kankakee County, with 575 as of Tuesday afternoon. Of those cases, 7 are currently hospitalized.
Since Monday, 61 cases have been reported by KCHD.
No additional deaths were reported Tuesday and remain at 67.
As part of Region 7, Kankakee/Will County has seen 5 days of positivity increases dating back to Saturday, August 15th. The current region positivity is 6.7%.
