Manteno, IL – Police in Manteno are warning residents about recent reports of packages being stolen from porches. The thefts reportedly involve a suspect dressed as an Amazon delivery worker, wearing a blue delivery vest.
According to the Manteno Police Department, the suspect was seen during one incident driving a dark-colored four-door sedan. Police have shared surveillance images showing the individual and the vehicle, hoping to identify the person involved.
Authorities emphasize that the thefts are happening as more packages are delivered during the holiday season. They advise residents to retrieve packages as soon as possible and report any suspicious activity immediately. If possible, residents should note the suspect’s vehicle description, direction of travel, and license plate number.
Manteno police urge the public not to confront anyone acting suspiciously but instead to observe and contact authorities. For emergencies, residents can call 911. Non-emergency tips can be directed to the KanComm Dispatch Center at 815-933-3324.
