Kankakee County, Illinois — Investigators are seeking public help to identify a person and vehicle of interest in a homicide that occurred at a rural bar near the Illinois–Indiana state line along Illinois Route 114.

According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, detectives on Tuesday released images connected to the investigation, including photos of a man wearing a high-visibility yellow jacket and a light-colored sedan believed to be associated with the case. Kankakee County CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000 cash reward for information that leads to the positive identification of the individual or vehicle. Callers may remain completely anonymous.

Sheriff’s officials said the images are being released to generate leads and emphasized that the individual shown has not been charged and is considered a person of interest as the investigation continues.

The latest update follows a death investigation that began shortly before noon Monday, Feb. 2, when sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a possible deceased person at a local bar in rural Momence, near the Illinois–Indiana state line. The location is along Illinois Route 114.

Upon arrival, deputies located a 30-year-old woman inside the establishment. She was identified as Courtney M. Drysdale of Momence, Illinois, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on evidence gathered during the preliminary investigation, sheriff’s detectives classified the case as a homicide. Authorities have not released the cause of death, and no arrests have been announced.

The Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office said a press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central Time at the sheriff’s office, 3000 South Justice Way in Kankakee, where additional information is expected to be released.
