Kankakee County, IL: Momence Police Arrest Suspect After Alleged Struggle with Officers

Momence, IL – Momence police arrested a man early Monday after he allegedly struck an officer and resisted arrest. Officers responded to 112 E. Washington St. at 4:05 a.m. for a report of an unwanted subject.

According to the Momence Police Department, officers identified the man as Sean Buchanan. Officers informed him he was not welcome and repeatedly asked him to leave. Buchanan allegedly refused and grew aggressive, striking a Grant Park officer.

As officers attempted an arrest, Buchanan allegedly resisted, leading to a struggle. Police deployed a Taser to subdue him. Paramedics responded as Buchanan allegedly continued struggling.

Authorities charged Buchanan with two felony counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest. He was taken to the Jerome Combs Detention Center for a detention hearing.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
