Kankakee County, IL – Families in the Bourbonnais-Kankakee area can get a head start on Mother’s Day this week as Limestone Township Public Library hosts a special craft event designed for kids on Tuesday evening.

According to the Limestone Township Public Library District, the “Mother’s Day Craft” event will take place Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the library, located in Limestone Township in Kankakee County, Illinois. The one-hour session invites children to create handmade gifts for their mothers using a variety of craft stations.

Library organizers say the event is geared toward helping kids make heartfelt presents ahead of Mother’s Day, which falls Sunday, May 10. Multiple craft options will be available, allowing participants to design personalized items during the session.

The event is open to local families across Limestone Township, Bourbonnais, and the greater Kankakee metro area. Space may be limited, and advance registration is encouraged.

Parents or guardians can register their children by calling 815-939-1696 or emailing info@limestonelibrary.org, according to library officials.

Community events like this are part of the library’s ongoing effort to provide family-friendly programming and seasonal activities for residents throughout Kankakee County.

With Mother’s Day just days away, organizers say this event offers a simple way for children to create meaningful gifts while engaging in a creative, hands-on experience.
