Kane County: West Dundee Man Identified as Victim Found Dead in Carpentersville

Carpentersville, IL – The Carpentersville Police Department has identified the deceased male found early Tuesday morning on Main Street hill, east of Route 31, as 33-year-old Matthew Burke of West Dundee. The body was discovered at approximately 3:30 a.m. by a passerby, leading to a temporary closure of the roadway for evidence collection.

According to an update from the Carpentersville Police, the Kane County Coroner’s Office has ruled Burke’s death as accidental. The specific circumstances surrounding his death were not disclosed. The police have confirmed that Burke’s family has been notified.

Deputy Chief Kevin Stankowitz expressed condolences to the Burke family, extending the department’s sympathies during this difficult time. The Carpentersville Police Department also thanked the community for providing information and potential leads that assisted in the investigation.
