Isaias Vargas, 23, of Joliet, was arrested Thursday on charges including aggravated criminal sexual assault and home invasion. He is currently held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
According to the Joliet Police Department, officers responded to a call at 7:37 a.m. from a juvenile female on Richards St., who reported that Vargas, a neighbor, was in her house attempting to assault her. Vargas fled the scene but was later found hiding in a chicken coop at his residence.
The victim disclosed that Vargas had also assaulted her when she was younger. Detectives and the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center are involved in the ongoing investigation.
