
Joliet, IL – A 17-year-old male is in critical condition after a stabbing reported this afternoon at an apartment complex in Joliet, prompting an active police investigation in Will County within the Chicago metro area.
According to the Joliet Police Department, officers responded around 12:55 p.m. Sunday to Riverwalk Homes Apartments, located at 366 N. Broadway. Upon arrival, officers located the teen on the fifth floor suffering from a serious stab wound. Emergency crews transported the victim to Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
Police said officers quickly secured the scene and began canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. A male juvenile has been detained as a person of interest and was transported to the Joliet Police Department for questioning. Authorities confirmed that a knife was recovered at the scene.
