Jacksonville, FL – Thick morning fog has settled across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia, turning early commutes into a slow, low-visibility crawl. Drivers on I-95, U.S. 1, and area bridges are urged to use headlights and allow extra time as visibility falls below a quarter mile in spots.
According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for much of the region, including Duval, Nassau, Clay, and St. Johns Counties. Visibility could drop to near zero in rural areas and along river valleys, making travel especially hazardous through midmorning.
The fog will lift by late morning, revealing mostly sunny skies and unseasonably warm air. Highs will climb near 78°F today, continuing a stretch of above-average warmth through midweek. Patchy fog may return Tuesday and Wednesday mornings before a weak front brushes the region late Wednesday, bringing only a slight chance of showers.
Thanksgiving Day looks ideal for outdoor gatherings — mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s and light breezes. Cooler mornings return late week as holiday travelers hit the roads for Black Friday and the weekend.
