Jackson County, OR – Residents in part of Jackson County are being ordered to leave immediately after officials upgraded another evacuation zone to the highest alert level as the East Evans Creek Road Fire continues to threaten the area.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Zone JAC-124 has been upgraded from Level 2 (Be Set) to Level 3 (Go Now). The evacuation order includes residences along the 22705 through 24100 block of East Evans Creek Road.
Deputies are conducting door-to-door notifications to ensure residents are aware of the mandatory evacuation order.
Officials warned there is extreme danger in the area and urged residents to leave immediately. Those evacuating are advised not to stop to gather belongings or attempt to protect their homes. Authorities also cautioned that emergency responders may not be able to assist anyone who chooses to remain.
An additional Level 3 evacuation remains in effect for Zone JAC-148A, which includes residences adjacent to East Evans Creek Road from 19385 through 21899, as well as 21612 Antioch Road and 21615 Antioch Road.
Other evacuation levels currently in effect include:
- Level 2 (Be Set): JAC-016, JAC-147, JAC-148B
- Level 1 (Be Ready): JAC-003, JAC-004, JAC-017, JAC-026, JAC-036, JAC-109, JAC-126, and JAC-149B
Residents can determine their evacuation zone by visiting protect.genasys.com and can monitor firefighting efforts through the Oregon Department of Forestry Southwest Oregon District. Officials urge everyone to stay out of evacuated areas until authorities declare them safe to return.
