Onarga, IL – A local man has been arrested following an investigation into a break-in at a gas station in Onarga late last week. Iroquois County Sheriff’s Police reported that 23-year-old Jorgen Schumers was taken into custody after deputies responded to a burglary alarm at the gas station on Thursday.
The alarm, which went off late Thursday, prompted an immediate response from deputies who found evidence of forced entry. According to reports, the subsequent investigation led authorities to Schumers, who was allegedly linked to the crime through undisclosed evidence gathered at the scene. Schumers was arrested shortly after the investigation.
Schumers is facing multiple charges related to the burglary and is currently being held in the Iroquois County Jail. He remains in custody as he awaits a court date to answer the charges.
