Davenport, IA – Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected to hit the Iowa Quad Cities today, with some storms potentially reaching severe levels.

According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities Iowa/Illinois, today’s thunderstorms could bring damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Residents are urged to stay indoors when thunder roars and to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings. The severe threat is classified as a slight risk, with the main concerns being heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts moving southeast at 45 mph.

The hourly forecast shows clear skies in the morning, with temperatures rising from 70°F at 7 a.m. to a high of 90°F by the afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to develop around 2 p.m., with a 50% chance of rain continuing into the evening.

For the rest of the week, Wednesday’s forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with a high of 91°F. Thursday brings another chance of thunderstorms with a high of 88°F and a 45% chance of rain. Friday through Sunday will see mostly sunny skies with highs around 90°F, offering a brief respite from the stormy weather. The following Monday and Tuesday will maintain warm temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s with sunny conditions.
