Quad Cities, IA/IL – Another unseasonably cool day will settle over the Quad Cities on Wednesday, with scattered showers and isolated storms keeping highs near 70°F. But by the weekend, the region will pivot sharply toward summerlike conditions — and the haze of wildfire smoke.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, highs will jump into the low 80s by Friday and could soar into the upper 80s and low 90s by Tuesday. Rain chances remain low but steady through Sunday, with a 15–30% likelihood of showers each day.

Residents across eastern Iowa and western Illinois should also prepare for hazy skies, as elevated smoke from Canadian wildfires drifts into the atmosphere starting Saturday. While surface air quality impacts are not currently expected, visibility may be reduced and sensitive groups should monitor conditions.

Cities including Davenport, Moline, Bettendorf, and Rock Island can expect warming temperatures to continue into early next week. The NWS notes that this would mark the first return of 90-degree heat in the area since last summer.

Highs in the low 90s are possible through midweek, with increasing humidity. Stay weather-aware and limit outdoor activity during smoky or hot periods. More advisories may be issued as conditions evolve.
