Davenport, Iowa – Breezy winds and a break from the rain will bring a dry Monday to the Quad Cities, but it won’t last long. Severe storms could return by Tuesday night, bringing the threat of heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds across parts of Iowa and northwest Illinois.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, skies will clear gradually Monday afternoon, with high temperatures ranging from 58 to 67°F. A 60% chance of rain moves in late tonight, especially in the northern areas. Rain chances increase Tuesday through Friday, with daily highs climbing into the 70s and lows staying in the 40s and 50s.
Cities including Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, and Clinton could see isolated severe storms Tuesday night, when the chance of strong thunderstorms spikes to 50%. Wednesday and Thursday both carry a 30–60% chance of showers and storms, with the potential for localized flooding in low-lying areas.
Residents should secure outdoor items, prepare for possible power outages, and avoid travel during peak storm periods.
Storm chances remain through the end of the week, but forecasters note that each day may also bring several hours of dry weather. More updates are expected by Tuesday morning.
