Davenport, Iowa – Light snow could brush the southern Quad Cities region late Sunday night, with up to 1 inch possible south of US-34 before a brief wintry mix transitions to rain by Monday night.
Dry conditions will hold through Sunday with increasing cloud cover across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois. High temperatures in the 30s will keep roadways cold heading into the evening hours.
After sunset, moisture lifting into the region may trigger light snow, primarily in areas south of Highway 34, including Burlington and portions of far southern Henderson and Warren counties in Illinois. Minor accumulation of around 1 inch or less is possible on grassy and elevated surfaces before daybreak Monday.
In the Quad Cities metro, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline and Rock Island, precipitation chances are lower but not zero. A brief rain-snow mix could develop early Monday morning, especially south of I-80 and near I-74. Slick spots may form on untreated roads and bridges between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.
By Monday afternoon, drier air returns with highs climbing into the low to mid-40s. Attention then shifts to Monday night, when a more widespread round of rain is expected to move into the region. Temperatures above freezing should limit additional winter impacts, but wet roadways are likely along I-280, I-74 and US-61.
Drivers traveling late Sunday night into early Monday should monitor conditions, particularly south of US-34, where light snow could briefly reduce visibility and create minor travel disruptions before improving later in the day.
