Indianapolis, IN — Detectives arrested a 43-year-old woman in connection with a February homicide in Indianapolis. Tia Smith was apprehended on September 11, 2024, by U.S. Marshals and IMPD Violent Crimes Unit officers.
The arrest stemmed from a February 12 investigation in the 4100 block of Brentwood Drive. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers found Clevester Brown, an unresponsive male, at the scene. Medics later pronounced him dead. Investigators discovered that Brown had suffered gunshot wounds.
A warrant was issued for Smith’s arrest following an investigation. On Wednesday, authorities located and arrested her for her alleged involvement in Brown’s death.
Smith faces murder charges, though the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make final decisions regarding formal charges. Smith remains innocent unless proven guilty in court.
