Indianapolis, IN – The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says quiet weather will prevail through Friday, but wintry conditions are expected to make a return over the weekend.
Clouds will gradually clear today with highs in the upper 20s to mid-30s. By Saturday, skies will turn mostly cloudy again, and patchy freezing drizzle could develop — mainly in the morning — bringing the potential for slick spots on untreated roads and sidewalks.
The next round of more widespread precipitation arrives late Saturday night into Sunday, with a mix of rain and snow expected across southern and central Indiana, and light snow likely to the north. Light accumulations are possible, particularly north of Interstate 70.
Temperatures will stay below normal, with lows dipping into the teens by Sunday night as colder air settles in.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates and use caution if traveling early Sunday morning.
