Indianapolis, Indiana – Central Indiana is about to get an early taste of spring as temperatures climb rapidly beginning Monday, bringing unseasonably warm and mostly dry conditions through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, highs will rebound quickly after a chilly Sunday, rising into the 40s and lower 50s Monday before jumping into the upper 50s and low 60s by Tuesday. Wednesday remains mild as well, with highs staying well above early January averages under mostly sunny skies.

Sunday remains the coolest day of the stretch, with highs in the low to mid-30s and overnight lows dipping into the upper 20s. Clouds linger, but dry weather dominates. By Monday, warmer air surges in, pushing afternoon temperatures into the low to mid-50s across much of the state.

Tuesday looks to be the warmest day so far, with highs reaching the upper 50s to near 60 degrees, accompanied by a light breeze. Indianapolis, Bloomington, Lafayette, Terre Haute, and Muncie will all see temperatures more typical of March than early January.

Conditions stay dry through at least midweek, making for favorable travel and outdoor plans. Rain chances begin to increase late Wednesday night into Thursday as a more active pattern returns. While the warmth continues into midweek, residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware as changing conditions arrive later in the week.
