Indianapolis, IN – IMPD detectives arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with a September shooting on Indianapolis’s south side. The teen was taken into custody on October 10, following an investigation by the Aggravated Assault Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, and Covert Robbery Unit.

Detectives served a search warrant on South Madison Avenue, recovering a stolen firearm from a vehicle. They then arrested the suspect, linking him to the shooting and robbery that occurred on September 26. On that day, officers responded to a report of a person shot around 5:58 p.m. Upon arrival, they found an adult male with gunshot injuries, who was transported to Methodist Hospital.

Investigators worked to gather surveillance footage and witness statements, eventually identifying the teenage suspect. He now faces charges of attempted murder, robbery, and aggravated assault. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide on formal charges.

The suspect remains innocent until proven guilty in court.
