Indianapolis, IN – A fire broke out early Friday at a home on North Kealing Avenue, displacing three adults. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames in the attic and encountered difficulties due to hoarder conditions.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, emergency crews responded at 8:33 a.m. Firefighters also noted electrical issues, including “borrowing” power from a neighboring home. They brought the fire under control in 45 minutes.

No injuries were reported, but the fire caused significant damage. Investigators remain on the scene to determine the cause. The Indianapolis Fire Department’s Victims Assistance team is working with the Red Cross to provide shelter for the displaced residents.

Officials urge residents to use safe electrical practices and maintain clear access in homes to assist emergency responders.
