Terre Haute, IN – A significant search effort led by Indiana State Police troopers from the Putnamville Post culminated in the discovery of a woman on Friday, March 15, who had been missing for three days.

According to Indiana State Police reports the woman was located in a remote wildlife area behind the federal prison near the Wabash River, Terre Haute, after she managed to yell for help, catching the attention of a Bureau of Prison guard.

The Indiana State Police reported that Trooper Derek Line, together with other law enforcement and fire department personnel, responded to the scene. Trooper Line braved waist-deep waters, wading through two creeks to reach the woman. She revealed that after walking from West Terre Haute to the area, her legs became numb, leaving her unable to walk back.
