Fort Wayne, IN – Northern Indiana will see a temporary reprieve from freezing conditions as a warmer weather pattern takes hold this weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday are expected to climb into the low 40s, marking a noticeable shift after days of icy conditions.
According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, skies will remain mostly sunny on Saturday, with highs reaching 40°F. However, Sunday evening brings an 80% chance of rain as a weather front moves through the area. Residents are advised to prepare for slick conditions on roads, particularly as melting snow combined with rainfall could create hazards.
Tonight, temperatures will drop to a chilly 22°F, accompanied by partly cloudy skies and light southwest winds of up to 15 mph. Saturday night remains calm with lows around 34°F, though increasing cloud cover signals the arrival of Sunday’s precipitation.
Sunday’s forecast predicts mostly sunny skies during the day, with highs near 50°F. Rain showers will likely begin late Sunday night and could persist into Monday. Early next week, temperatures will rise to 52°F on Monday but taper off again by Tuesday with a chance of snow showers as highs settle in the low 40s.
Drivers traveling on major roads such as I-69 or US-30 should remain cautious as fluctuating temperatures could lead to icy patches or reduced visibility during evening rainfall.
