Indianapolis, Indiana – Showers and thunderstorms are set to move out of Central Indiana by late tonight, bringing a much-needed break in the rain but ushering in cooler temperatures for the weekend. Locally heavy rain could still impact low-lying areas this evening, but drier weather is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, rain will taper off overnight, with lows dropping to 43–49°F across Marion, Hamilton, and surrounding counties. Saturday brings decreasing clouds and temperatures reaching 59–66°F, though overnight lows will fall to the 38–45°F range—prompting a chilly start for outdoor plans across the region.

By Sunday, mostly sunny skies return with highs in the mid-60s and lows from 47–52°F, giving residents a crisp but pleasant finish to the weekend. Motorists should remain cautious of slick roads tonight, especially in areas that experience heavier rainfall. Hoosiers are advised to avoid flood-prone roadways and check local alerts before traveling.

This cool, dry spell will linger through Sunday, with the next chance of showers holding off until next week. Additional updates and advisories may be issued as conditions change.
