Indianapolis, IN – Dangerous wind chills and snow-covered roads will impact central Indiana through Thursday, making travel hazardous across the region. Snow showers will continue overnight, with wind chills dropping as low as -10°F by morning.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow will persist into early Thursday, with an additional inch of accumulation possible. Bitterly cold temperatures will combine with northwest winds to create icy conditions on untreated roads and bridges. Drivers are urged to use caution, especially during the morning commute.
Thursday’s high will reach just 21°F before another frigid night, with lows near 8°F. Winds will ease into Friday as sunshine returns, though temperatures will remain below freezing. By Saturday, a warming trend will begin, with highs reaching the low 30s.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring even milder conditions, with highs nearing 42°F. This warming trend will continue into early next week, giving Indiana a brief break from the arctic chill.
