Fort Wayne, IN – A strong weather system is set to bring gusty winds, rain, and possible snow showers to northern Indiana starting Tuesday night and continuing through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Northern Indiana, wind gusts up to 30 mph will arrive overnight, increasing to 45 mph by Wednesday evening. Rain showers will persist throughout the day before temperatures drop sharply late Wednesday, potentially leading to icy roads.

By Wednesday night, the cold front will shift winds to the northwest, bringing sharply colder temperatures between 25-27°F. Snow showers are possible, and motorists should be cautious of slippery road conditions.

Thursday will remain cold, with highs in the mid-30s and overnight lows dipping into the mid-20s. Residents should prepare for strong winds, fluctuating temperatures, and possible icy pavement.

Drivers are advised to check road conditions before heading out, as wind and freezing temperatures may create hazardous travel conditions.
