Indianapolis, IN – The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a warning for potential severe weather conditions over the next few days, with showers and storms likely to develop today and continue through the weekend. Residents are advised to stay vigilant, as a few strong storms are expected, particularly late Thursday into Friday. The threat of flash flooding is heightened, especially in areas south of I-70.

According to the NWS, today’s high will reach around 83°F with showers and storms primarily occurring later in the day. Friday will see temperatures climbing to 87°F with a higher chance of storms, some of which could be severe, posing a risk of flash flooding late Thursday night into Friday morning. Saturday’s weather will remain unsettled, with a high of 83°F and a continued possibility of afternoon showers and storms.

Looking ahead, the forecast suggests a cooling trend starting Sunday, with highs dipping to 78°F. The rain is expected to taper off by the beginning of next week, with Monday and Tuesday bringing cooler, clearer conditions, and temperatures in the mid-70s.
