Fort Wayne, IN — Residents across northern Indiana should brace for a wet and windy end to the weekend. Showers are expected to arrive early Sunday, bringing up to half an inch of rain along with gusty southwest winds reaching 30 mph. Travelers along I-69 and surrounding roadways should plan for potential delays and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will peak at 90% from early Sunday morning through the afternoon. Highs will reach a mild 66 degrees, unusually warm for November, before dropping into the 40s Sunday night as the system clears out. Commuters and those attending outdoor events should prepare for the rain, with umbrellas and rain gear recommended throughout the day.

Looking ahead, Veterans Day on Monday will offer a reprieve, with partly sunny skies and a high near 59 degrees. Breezy conditions are expected, with winds gusting up to 25 mph, making it ideal for outdoor observances and parades in Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. The clear weather will continue into Tuesday, which will see highs in the low 50s and mostly sunny skies.

By midweek, another round of rain could arrive, with a 40% chance of showers on Wednesday. Temperatures will stay mild, reaching around 60 degrees, before a gradual cooling trend toward the end of the week.

Be sure to monitor local forecasts and prepare for shifting weather patterns as we move through November. Stay tuned for updates, and drive safely during Sunday’s rain and wind conditions.
