Fort Wayne, IN – A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio until 7 a.m. EST Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Northern Indiana.

The advisory, issued late Wednesday night, warns of visibility dropping below one-quarter mile due to dense fog. Areas affected include Steuben, De Kalb, Allen, Wells, Adams, Blackford, and Jay counties in Indiana; Branch and Hillsdale counties in Michigan; and Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Allen counties in Ohio.

According to the NWS, hazardous driving conditions are expected as fog reduces visibility. Motorists are advised to slow down, use their headlights, and maintain extra distance from other vehicles to ensure safety.

The dense fog is expected to persist through the early morning hours, gradually improving as temperatures rise after sunrise. Commuters should plan for potential delays and exercise caution while traveling in affected areas.

For updated road conditions, travelers are encouraged to check with local transportation authorities. The NWS advises staying informed of weather alerts as conditions may change overnight.
