East Chicago, IN – A section of southbound State Road 912, also known as Cline Avenue, is scheduled for a lane closure starting this week in Lake County.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the left lane of southbound S.R. 912/Cline Avenue will be closed between Chicago Avenue and Gary Road for approximately one week beginning on or after Friday, June 6. The closure is necessary for pipe and inlet repair work along this stretch of the road.

Drivers in the East Chicago area should anticipate delays and consider alternate routes during the maintenance period. The affected area lies just north of the Indiana Toll Road (I-90) and south of U.S. Route 12, with the closure spanning a key portion of Cline Avenue.

INDOT advises motorists to use caution in the construction zone and follow posted signage and detour routes. Updates on the project timeline or changes to the traffic pattern will be shared as available through INDOT’s official channels.

This lane closure is part of ongoing infrastructure upkeep aimed at ensuring roadway safety and drainage efficiency.
