Tippecanoe County, IN – Indiana State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at a Tippecanoe County Community Corrections facility following a medical emergency late Thursday evening.
According to Detective Stinson, staff were alerted to a possible medical emergency in one of the facility’s rooms just before 9:30 p.m. Upon finding an unresponsive individual, staff administered medical aid while Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched. The individual was transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the inmate’s death, though their identity will be released after next of kin are notified. Officials noted that there is no indication of foul play at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, with Indiana State Police collaborating with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, Tippecanoe County Community Corrections, EMS, and the Coroner’s Office. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
