Indiana State Police Investigate Deadly Two-Vehicle Accident in Randolph County

Richmond, IN – A fatal two-vehicle crash in Randolph County on Friday evening claimed the life of a Richmond woman.

The collision occurred before 7 p.m. at the intersection of US 35 and County Road 900 S. A red 2003 Cadillac driven by Michelle Elaine Moore, 58, of Richmond, reportedly ran a stop sign and was struck by a box truck. The truck, driven by Michael Landon England, 56, of New Castle, was traveling northbound on US 35.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received the call at 6:40 p.m. and requested the Indiana State Police Reconstruction Team. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been notified of her passing.

Officials confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the crash. US 35 was closed for two hours during the investigation and cleanup.

Trooper Blake Stephenson led the investigation with assistance from multiple local agencies, including the Losantville Volunteer Fire Department and Farmland EMS.

Authorities urge drivers to follow all traffic signals and remain vigilant at intersections to prevent similar tragedies.
