Indianapolis, IN – Several Indiana state parks will close on Saturday and Sunday for annual controlled deer management hunts, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
The closures affect parks statewide, including Brown County, Pokagon, Clifty Falls, McCormick’s Creek, and Chain O’Lakes, among others. The hunts aim to maintain healthy deer populations and ensure ecological balance in these areas. Firearms and archery equipment permitted for deer hunting in Indiana will be allowed.
Late-season hunts are scheduled for Dec. 2-3. Further details and participating locations can be found on the Indiana DNR website.
