Merrillville, IN – Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (NIPSCO) announced Monday that enrollment is open for several energy assistance programs aimed at income-eligible customers facing challenges in paying their natural gas utility bills.
Programs include the NIPSCO Hardship, SERV (Supply Energy Resources to Veterans), and SILVER (Seniors in Indiana Low-Income and Vulnerable Energy Resources), with applications accepted through May 31, 2025, or until funds are exhausted.
According to NIPSCO, the programs provide one-time benefits of up to $400 to qualifying customers. Additional options, such as LIHEAP and the CARE Discount Program, are also available. Customers are encouraged to apply early and explore payment plans to stay ahead of seasonal heating costs.
