Greenfield, IN – A shooting early Friday morning at an Amazon warehouse in Greenfield left one man dead and another in custody.
Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 1:45 a.m. to reports of gunfire at the warehouse on West 200 North. Upon arrival, officers found one man deceased in the parking lot. A second man, who allegedly raised his hands in surrender, was detained without incident.
According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased was identified as Isaac Riley, 39, of Indianapolis. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two men. Early evidence suggests the act may have been in self-defense.
Detectives and forensic teams worked at the scene while coordinating with the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities confirmed no ongoing threat to the public, emphasizing the incident was isolated.
Riley’s family has been notified. Investigations are ongoing, and officials commended nearby agencies for assisting with service calls.
