Indiana Hit-and-Run: Mishawaka Man Charged in Fatal Collision with Bicyclist

Mishawaka, IN – In a tragic turn of events, Robert Blankenship, 49, of Mishawaka, has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, a Level 4 Felony. The charge stems from a February 13 incident on East 12th Street, where Blankenship allegedly hit and fatally injured 19-year-old bicyclist Varinder Singh. 

Under Indiana law, a conviction for a Level 4 Felony can lead to a sentence ranging from 2 to 12 years. Blankenship is being held without bond until his initial bail hearing, scheduled for Friday, February 16.
