Indiana Garage Fire Contained Quickly in Cedar Lake Today, No Injuries Reported

Cedar Lake, IN – Fire crews in Cedar Lake responded to a garage fire late Tuesday morning after a report of smoke at a single-family residence.

According to the Cedar Lake Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 5141, units were dispatched around 11 a.m. to the 13500 block of Parrish Avenue for a smoke investigation. The call originated from a resident who reported seeing smoke coming from their garage.

Engine 1212 and Ambulance 1262, staffed with five crew members, arrived at the scene and located active smoke and flames confined to the garage of the single-story home. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the residence.

No injuries were reported by occupants or emergency responders, and the situation was brought under control without escalation.

The department acknowledged the assistance of several agencies, including the Lowell Indiana Fire Department, Cedar Lake Police Department, Southcom 911, and Lake County 911, all of whom contributed to managing the emergency.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
