La Porte, IN – Major road construction on State Road 4/Monroe Street in La Porte will continue to impact traffic through Tuesday, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The project, which began with milling operations, will conclude with resurfacing on Tuesday.

INDOT reports that the work spans from State Road 2/Lincolnway to Boyd Boulevard. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic, but INDOT warns drivers to expect delays, especially at intersections where crews are actively working. Crossroads will remain open but may experience additional delays while construction progresses.

Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes to avoid the area, as delays may occur due to the project’s scope and the presence of heavy machinery. The roadwork is part of ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure and enhance safety for La Porte’s drivers.

The resurfacing phase is expected to be completed by Tuesday, weather permitting. Drivers passing through La Porte are encouraged to exercise caution and anticipate potential disruptions until the project’s end.
