Cass County, IN – State Road 16 will close starting Tuesday for maintenance work, affecting the stretch between State Road 25 and U.S. 31. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced that daytime closures will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for about four days.

According to INDOT, crews will replace two small culverts during the closure. This essential maintenance aims to improve road drainage and ensure smoother travel once completed. Drivers should plan for delays and follow the official detour using State Road 25, U.S. 24, and U.S. 31.

Logansport, Twelve Mile, and Mexico will be most affected by the temporary closure, with significant traffic rerouting expected. Local drivers are encouraged to leave extra time for commutes during this period. All maintenance work is weather permitting, which may extend the timeline if delays occur.

Motorists should stay updated on closure information through the INDOT website or their social media channels for any potential changes. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume after work concludes on or before October 26.
