Indianapolis, IN – Residents across Indiana are being urged to immediately dispose of Great Value brand apple juice sold at Walmart stores after the FDA expanded an urgent recall due to potentially dangerous levels of arsenic. The recall, which began on August 15, has escalated, prompting renewed warnings as of Friday.

According to the FDA, consuming the affected apple juice could lead to minor health issues, though serious problems are unlikely. However, the presence of elevated arsenic levels poses a significant public health concern. The recalled product has been distributed in 25 states, including Indiana, as well as Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.

Consumers in Indiana are advised to check their pantries and discard any Great Value apple juice purchased from Walmart. The FDA recommends either returning the product to the store for a refund or safely disposing of it to avoid any risk. For more information or to report any related health issues, Indiana residents should contact their local health department or the FDA directly.
