Indianapolis, IN – A cold front sweeping through Indiana will bring patchy snow showers and freezing temperatures starting Thursday night. Temperatures will plummet, with lows dipping into the single digits across central Indiana, creating hazardous conditions. Residents should prepare for icy roads and increased wind chill risks.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy snow flurries are expected to continue through Thursday evening. Highs will struggle to reach the upper 20s Thursday before dropping sharply overnight to a low of 7 degrees. Winds will diminish late Thursday but will contribute to wind chills below zero. Drivers are urged to exercise caution on roadways, including Interstate 65 and State Road 37, as slick spots may form overnight.

Friday will bring sunny skies, but temperatures will remain frigid, with highs near 22 degrees. Southwesterly winds will increase, making conditions feel colder. Residents are encouraged to bundle up and limit outdoor activities during the early morning hours.

Looking ahead, temperatures will gradually warm into the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 37 degrees, while Sunday will see a high near 32 degrees under partly cloudy skies. By Monday, highs may reach 38 degrees, but gusty winds could return.

Stay updated on road conditions and dress in layers to protect against the extreme cold. For those traveling, keep an emergency kit in your car.
