Fort Wayne, IN – A beach hazards statement is in effect for La Porte County, IN, and Berrien County, MI, warning of dangerous swimming conditions on Lake Michigan today. With waves expected to reach up to 7 feet, residents and visitors are advised to stay out of the water due to the high risk of strong currents and dangerous waves.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, isolated sprinkles are possible near Lake Michigan this morning, but dry conditions are expected through Monday afternoon. The weekend temperatures will range from the 70s to the low-to-mid 80s.

For today, Fort Wayne will see clear skies with temperatures rising from a cool 56°F in the morning to a pleasant 76°F by afternoon. Friday’s forecast includes sunny skies and a high of 79°F, while Saturday is expected to be slightly warmer with a high of 81°F. The rest of the weekend will see partly cloudy skies on Sunday with a high of 82°F, and temperatures will continue to rise into the low 80s through early next week.
