Illinois Weather Alert: Warm Temps in the 70s Through Saturday with Little Chance for Rain

Lincoln, IL – Central Illinois can expect seasonably warm temperatures through Saturday, with highs in the 70s and lows ranging from the 40s to low 50s. While conditions remain mostly dry, a weather system moving in from the south may bring a few showers as far north as I-72 by Wednesday night and Thursday. Morning fog, especially in the southeast part of the state, will be possible today.

According to the National Weather Service, expect partly cloudy skies for today, with high temperatures ranging from 71°F to 74°F. Fog will be more prominent in the southeast region, with a slightly higher chance of showers developing to the south later this week.

Wednesday will bring mostly cloudy conditions, with temperatures between 74°F and 79°F. Light showers are expected south of I-72, with only a slight chance of rain further north. By Thursday and Friday, skies should clear, bringing mostly sunny conditions and mild temperatures around 69°F to 73°F on Thursday and 68°F to 72°F on Friday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the low 70s on Saturday and mostly clear skies. Temperatures will cool into the 40s at night through Saturday, providing a cool but pleasant finish to the week.
