Denver, Colorado – Snow is intensifying across the Front Range mountains, with significant accumulations expected through tonight. The heaviest snow will impact Summit County, particularly along I-70, with up to 22 inches of snow in some areas. Travelers on the interstate and mountain passes should prepare for dangerous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, snow levels will drop to 8,000 feet this morning, with the heaviest snowfall anticipated this afternoon and tonight. The storm is expected to deposit 12 to 22 inches of snow along the higher east slopes, including I-70 in Clear Creek County, as well as Berthoud and Kenosha Passes.

Drivers traveling through these areas, including the mountain passes, should expect challenging road conditions, especially in the higher elevations. Snow and slick spots will make travel hazardous, and reduced visibility could lead to disruptions. While rainfall is expected at lower elevations, the risk of flooding is low.

Snowfall totals and road conditions will continue to evolve throughout the day. Travelers are urged to stay updated and avoid travel in impacted areas when possible.
