Chicago, IL – A Chicago man has been charged in connection with a 2023 vehicular hijacking after an investigation by Illinois State Police.
According to ISP, officers responded to a hijacking on June 4, 2023, around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 290 near Central Avenue. Authorities say 34-year-old Eric D. Evans allegedly took the victim’s vehicle with the assistance of two accomplices following a physical altercation.
Evans, already in custody at the Cook County Department of Corrections on unrelated charges, was formally charged on February 28. He remains in custody.
Evans is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
