Chicago, IL – Illinois residents attending the 2025 Chicago Auto Show will have the opportunity to complete DMV transactions without visiting a traditional office. The Illinois Secretary of State’s office is expanding its Auto Show presence, offering on-site driver, vehicle, and business services, along with family-friendly activities and giveaways, Secretary Alexi Giannoulias announced.
According to Giannoulias, the Auto Show will feature a full-service DMV at McCormick Place, where visitors can renew driver’s licenses, apply for REAL IDs, update vehicle registration, and conduct business services. A “DMV Food Truck” will provide an interactive look at the state’s mobile services.
For younger attendees, the booth will offer Illinois license plate name tags, free coloring books, and Pop-A-Shot basketball hoops. Additionally, Giannoulias, in his role as State Librarian, will host Illinois author Dwayne Reed on Feb. 8 and 15 for live readings and book giveaways.
The REAL ID deadline for domestic flights is May 7, 2025. Visitors interested in applying must bring the required documents, with a checklist available online.
