According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, a Wind Advisory remains in effect Wednesday from noon to 7 p.m. South winds of 15–25 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, are expected. Residents should secure loose outdoor objects and drive with caution, particularly high-profile vehicles.
Storm chances increase significantly starting Thursday, with strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected through Saturday night. The heaviest rain is forecast for southeast Missouri into southwest Illinois, where flash flooding and river flooding risks are elevated. Storms could bring large hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning.
Thursday: Showers and isolated thunderstorms will become more widespread into the night. Rainfall may reach 2 inches in localized areas.
